Including all the components required for strut replacement without the need for a spring compressor, this complete strut assembly features the strut, coil spring and strut mount preassembled for easy installation. CAUSES & CONSEQUENCES OF STRUT FAILURE

Like many parts on your vehicle, struts are subject to wear. The rate of wear depends on a wide range of variables, such as road and environmental conditions, your driving style and vehicle load. Causes of worn struts include damaged bushings, exposure to the elements, loss of oil viscosity and gradual degradation of internal components over time. Driving with worn struts can result in problems ranging from reduced braking efficiency, cause premature tire wear, loss of stability and damage to other suspension parts.

IMPORTANCE OF AN ALIGNMENT

Always perform an alignment anytime replacement shocks, struts or other ride control parts are installed. Camber, toe and caster settings can all be affected by installing new struts. Failure to make sure the vehicle’s alignment is within factory specifications can lead to problems like premature tire wear.

IMPORTANCE OF MAINTAINING RIDE HEIGHT

Proper ride height is crucial to vehicle durability, performance and safety. When inspecting a vehicle, don’t just check the static ride height. The dynamic ride height – the ride height of a vehicle in motion – may tell a different story. The cause of dynamic ride height issues is often worn or damaged coil springs. Don’t just replace the strut – be sure to also inspect for and replace worn coil springs.

HOW TO PROPERLY INSTALL A STRUT ASSEMBLY

Avoid noise after installing a strut assembly with this four-step procedure.

  1. Loosely install 1 or 2 upper mounting nuts and position lower strut mount to steering knuckle assembly
  2. Install lower mounting bolts and lower vehicle to the ground
  3. Locate manufacturer torque specifications
  4. Torque lower bolts and secure upper mounting nuts in alternating pattern

These worked perfect for my 2006 Toyota Corolla. I purchased all (4) front and rear sets by Monroe. I can tell the difference on the ride as well as any speed bumps I go over, it’s less of a “shake” where I have to worry if I spill my coffee!

I'm no mechanic. So the first time I tried to install it took a few hours. Mainly for things like not having all the proper tools and having to run to autozone a few times. You will need a 19mm socket for the main bolts in my 2007 Toyota Corolla. Also a proper torque wrench. My old strut of 200k miles came out eventually with some maneuvering. The new strut in went in perfectly except for the sway bar. So I had to jack up the wheel well to get everything to fit. However, the second time installing on the other side I was able to get the job done in one hour. So I think the average do it yourselfer can do this installation. Still much better than paying 2 or 3 times at a repair shop to do this install. Now my ride feels great with no more bottoming out on bumps!

First things first, this is stiffer than the original Toyota strut, that has been my experience with ALL aftermarket struts. If you want the same ride as original, buy OEM from the dealer for 2-3 times the price.

This was easy to install as are most quick struts, literally a 2 hour job in your driveway if you have power tools and know what you're doing, just remember to mark the position of the old strut or you'll likely need an alignment afterwards.

It has been great so far, no issues. They are a little stiff, but like I said, I was expecting that, it's a Corolla, not a Cadillac.

Used these struts on an ‘05 Toyota Corolla and let me tell you, anybody could do this job. (Provided they have a lug tool and a simple mechanics set). It’s worth a little bit extra to have the springs pre-installed, I promise.

was easy to install on my 2004 Toyota Corrola, exact fit, they arrived in time. The car rides like it was new. got the first one done with new brake shoes in about a hour and a half, got the other side done in 30 minutes, brake pads as well. This product has three name brands on it. One on the box (which I never heard of). A different name on a label the strut. It has MONROE stamped in the metal of the strut tube. It also says somewhere: 'Made in U.S.A.' The source on Amazon's page says it is made in China.
Be all that as it may, the product is good. It installed easily and it works well.

Old struts were leaking, these made the ride quality considerably better, replaced both left and right struts, everything lined up perfectly. I decided to use the old OEM strut nuts in the engine bay, the newer ones appeared to have been warped. Time will tell whether or not these will last as long as my old ones with 200,000 miles on them.

Highly recommend ! Genuine part, excellent quality. My ride has become measurably comfortable after installing these. Feels so much better with these installed. Very very satisfied. The package says " according to or higher specification/quality than OEM parts" OEM parts are basically genuine toyota dealer parts. I strongly feel this is a legit claim.
