I bought two of these to replace two sets of troublesome fluorescent fixtures. I'd read reviews and descriptions of many undercounter lights but didn't find anything decent till I found these. They seemed expensive, but as soon as they arrived I could tell they are a great product.
What convinced me to buy was a look at the Juno website which was clearly very professional and listed details of hundreds of lighting systems with all sorts of options, and, notably, with support for spare parts and so on. Most of the other companies' products seemed to be thrown together out of plastic or thin sheet metal, and had installation manuals that looked almost identical across different companies, so I guess the typical Hong Kong product is just heavily marketed. Juno on the other hand is first rank.
The Juno product is made of thick steel, with a removable, washable, tempered glass lens, that is prismatic on the inner side to spread the light. The fixture gives out plenty of bright cool light - my kitchen tiles now look white as they are supposed to. The light was so good that I had to clean up the tiles because all the spatter from cooking showed. It is a wonderful light to work by. The light also spreads very evenly because of the six LEDs and the special lens. I positioned the light about 2 inches from the front of the cabinet and it still lights up the top of the back wall.
The fixture itself hardly shows as it is just an inch thick. Even so, it is sturdy and heavily constructed. Installation is easy and there are several options. The standard way doesn't even require you to open the case. There's a flap that unscrews with one screw and that has a built in clamp for NM cable. The clamp itself doesn't need a screw. The fixture comes with an alternative flap for BX cable. You don't need wire nuts to attach your wires as there are push nuts that you just push the ends of the wire into. It's like magic. There are alternative wirings as well, in case you do want to open it up and use one of the knock-out slots.
Just one caution - the cable flap is in the center of the back of the fixture. If you have only a short wire that is to one side of where the light is to go you may need to work around this either by extending the cable (electrician) or opening the fixture and using the knockout slot.
Attaching the fixture to the cabinet is also easy. The captive screws work like a charm. Here's a tip for centering the fixture if you want to be nice and exact. Cut three pieces of thin wood or thick card of the appropriate width that you can stick to the underside of the cabinet with masking tape. Put two at the front or back underside of the cabinet to help you position the fixture front to back. Put the other under the cabinet against its side to position the lamp in the center of the cabinet. Now you can hold the fixture up against these three while you press the fixture against the underside and turn the screws to make marks for drilling.
Another great thing about the LEDs is that the lights start up almost instantly unlike the fluorescents that were terrible. Even though the fixtures have built in switches (Juno has an option without these if you need), if you have a wall switch to turn them on you can replace that switch with a good LED dimmer. The fixtures have plenty of light and with a dimmer your task lights become mood lights.
If I could give this product six stars I would. I'm going to buy some more for my hobby area soon.
