The smell is absolutely terrible and superstrong. It did not get rid of any fleas on my cats. My suggestion is to go to your vet and get whatever they suggest because trying to go the easy or cheap way out will not work on these bugs.

I have 2 indoor/outdoor cats, Beastie & Cat, and both of them hate having this stuff applied. It does have a very strong smell that's probably more unpleasant for them than it is for me, but I am wary of repellents full of chemicals and found that of the natural brands this one seems to be the most effective. It works the whole month, and neither cat has ever had an adverse reaction.

My indoor-only kitty had been scratching, so I picked this up at Dollar Tree with the thought that "hey, the worst that can happen is it doesn't work." Bad idea. Put this on my cat this morning, and the first thing I noticed is that it was ALOT of liquid. 12 hours later, and my poor cat still has a big greasy spot on her back. Not sure when (if ever) this stuff dries--I ended up having to try and WASH it off which was miserable for all involved and only half-successful.

The minty smell is super strong. I don't mind it, but I'm sure my cat isn't a fan. I've used the vet-recommended anti flea/tick medication before without any sort of problems, and put it right between the shoulder blades as directed. All day, my normally hyper lovebug has been less active and less affectionate. Hopefully, she can find it in her heart to forgive me for putting this garbage on her. Save your dollar and use the vet-recommended stuff.

I used this product in two cats. A couple hours after application I noticed the back of the cats neck was completely soaked with product into the hair. Fleas were crawling in and around the area unfazed. I had to bath my two adult cats around midnight that night. No one was happy and it was a terrible situation. Thanks to Amazon I was refunded.
