Lets face it.... cars are a luxury, therefore an expense. The simple fact is, no matter how you look at it, even if your car runs perfect all the time, you still have to put gas in it to make it go. Expense! But who's car runs perfect all the time? If you have one, let me know so I can get one too! But honestly, at some point in time your car needs some attention. Whether it is the simple oil change, brakes, or something more difficult, wouldn't it be nice to do it yourself as opposed to shelling out a bunch of cash to have someone else do it for you? The Haynes line of repair manuals are perfect for the novice level and up do it yourselfers! Not only do they put the tasks in an easy to understand text, they use excellent photographs to accompany the written repair. Making this a extremely valuable asset to someone with a little motivation to save themselves some hard earned money!Read full review

I like the inclusion of detailed specifications for torque, clearances, and thicknesses (for example minimum disc brake rotor thickness). Some photos weren't clearly linked to the written instructions on the same page. If you like Haynes manuals in general this one won't disappoint. There are two for the Subaru Legacy model. Make sure you buy the older one as it is more specific to the Legacy/Outback.
great
