We needed something 'wet' rated since they will be outside 100% and will be used all four seasons. We ordered these after an exhaustive internet search. They came packaged well from the shipper. ALL parts were included. The down rod system included is able to attach to rafters/ceiling up to 32 degrees of pitch. This combined with the vertical length enabled a perfect fit. The fan blades were easy to put together and install. The directions were easy to follow (includes pictures). Wiring was simple as well. Included wiring was long enough to use in even the longest down rod if needed. After installation the speeds were adjusted and immediately enjoyed!

Can you use a switch to change the speeds instead of the string?

Yes, we operate ours totally by a switch. One switch for the light and one for the fan . We even put a dimmer on the light.
