Primarily used for "shallow water: grouper and snapper fishing i.e. 100' or less. Plenty of line capacity using braid and drag handled gag and red grouper around structure with no issues. Line retrieve rate is reasonable and star drag was easy to adjust as needed.

I have two of them. they both work excellent, good material. does what you expect a reel to do. top drag tension ,holds a lot if line, strong reel and super smooth. use mine on chinook salmon in the pacific ocean any where from on top clear down to 400ft. on downrigger setup. have caught halibut on them while fishing for kings in deep water. worked great. I would buy another if I needed it.
