最近WOWWOWで見た邦画作品の主題歌としてthe good lifeが使われており、その使い方が余りにもすばらしく、とうとう購入するはめにおちりました。今回気がついたのですが、私の定番のI left my heart in san franciscoは、loneliness of parisではなくloveliness of paris だったようです。私はscott walkerのカヴァーversionからtony benettの作品に触れたという邪道ファンですが、when joanna loved meやcountry girlはscottの作品とはまた違った魅力があります。the shadow of your smileやlazy afternoonもお勧めです。ただ５０年代の作品はさすがに私にも時代を感じさせるようです。
