My aquarium smells so bad it's stuck up my whole apartment. I tried everything water changes, etc etc etc. But then I bought this. Filled it with charcoal. Did a 50% water change. I am very happy to say the water has never looked better. And it does not smell. Definitely recommend this for all aquariums. Stinky 1 3 6 9

The used pad or felt, with proper cleaning, may be reused. With the the use of these cartridges, your costs for filter changes are reduced. Works great you can add anything you want and then close it up adding another layer of filter protection. Great to use if you want to remove certain toxins from the water or just keep it clear and clean smelling...

If you have the filter that this media cartridge is made for then it is a no brainer. Polyfill media is a bit hard to get in there because of the slots in it for bio media. In that it excels. If you get the correct size biomedia then this will add a lot of bio filtration. I run one of these with biomedia and in my first slot I use the standard mechanical cartridge. This is basically an insert and forget media cartrige. If you rinse it out, do not use tap water. Use water from the tank to do that so you do not lose any beneficial bacteria.
