I'm sorry but even though this phone is pretty durable, it has a bunch more cons then pros. Pros: Lasted me awhile, and was fun to text on, because the keys had a nice layout, and was one of the first I had texting on, as this was awhile back. Was on Verizons network so pretty much always has coverage. CONS: Battery life from the start. This thing was absolute junk. I knew I was in a 2 year contract, but if I wasn't I would've honestly tossed this in a flash and upgraded. It also wore off. I had grayish paint on the front because the silver was already wearing off 5 months into original purchase of the phone. I didn't even drop this phone in that timeline. I think you should stay clear away from this phone.
It's not a smart phone. But it does have mobile web, mobile e-mail, and ap download ability. What it is is tough, light weight, blank on the outside until you get a call or push any button to check the time. Programming voice command takes awhile, but it does a very good job. You can even set the phone so it speaks to tell you who is calling ... or what number is calling if it's not among your contacts. And it can be a great work phone for outdoor or delivery group type jobs -- because it handles PTT (push to talk) if you sign up for the service with Verizon. It, of course, has all the "standard features": Selective ringtones, speaker-phone option, camera for still or video, wallpaper option on main screen, alarm clock, calendar, note book, calculator, text/picture/video/multimedia messaging, and can play games you download. This phone also has memory card optional (micro SD), which means you can load it up with music to listen to (Bluetooth or earbud), transfer pictures and video to the card, and then transfer that data to your computer. None of that having to e-mail your pictures to yourself, which means paying for data transfer ... not when you can slip the memory card into a reader which plugs into your computer (or maybe some printers?). Just how good is it? It was good enough that when one of ours was destroyed, by a dozen cars running over it, I hunted for this specific phone as a replacement. We now have three in active use and a fourth for a spare. Too bad Verizon doesn't stock them any more, despite showing this phone on their webpage the last time I checked. However, if you buy one they will activate it; when they check for serial number and find it clear, they'll assign it to the number of your choice (if this is a replacement) or will give you a new number for it.Read full review
I love this phone, I already have 2 of them on my account and my son needed a new phone because his other one was having problems so we bought this one. Its a great phone, it has a memory card so you can save loads of pictures and ringtones. If you just want an easy phone to operate and want memory I would suggest this phone. I don't use my phone for the internet so I don't need one of those with a keyboard and this one can be used for that but is also just a good reliable simple phone.
It is a pretty good phone for a really good price. i kind of wanted something a little more hi tech but I cant complain. The only thing I don't really like about it is the capacity of the inbox for text messages. My inbox only holds 70 messages. It just gets kinda irratating always deleteting them. But overall it's a pretty good phone
I purchased this phone for parts but it turned out to be better than my original phone. Set was in like new condition with box and all the extras. Despite that,I find the Verizon Wireless (prepaid-pageplus) to be Very UNRELIABLE. It DROPS Calls like crazy and the battery indicator shows more life to the charge than what's really left. I wound up buying a Motorola Boost mobile model i415 which actually works Fantastic. Bottom Line- I would not recommend the Audiovox cdm8600 phone.
