This is probably the best battery operated grinder I have purchased, I have used several other brands and was fairly happy with their performance, until now Porter Cable has come up with in my opinion an extremely well made tool. 20 volt batteries are awesome last longer recharge faster...very happy with tool would recommend to buy

Pro: Great price, provided you have other 20V Porter Cable battery operated products. If not, buy the "M" brand made in Brookfield, WI! Con: I've tried two of these 4.5 inch angle grinders. The switch assembly is defective. It is 100 degrees outside and I can't even get it to spin freely for 2 minutes. It shuts down. Holding it in my right hand and powering it on with a 3" wire brush and rotating the tool to the right causes the tool to shutdown. I have other PC 20V products and they are GREAT! If this product now reflects Porter Cable quality; I'll NEVER buy another one! It does NOT rate a 1 Star! I had to select it because there was no 'zero star' rating! G in sunny Phoenix, AZ

I love this grinder! It may not have the torque or power of a corded grinder but it does have a lot of get up and go. Very convenient to use when a corded grinder is not possible. It's a bit heavy when adding a battery but nothing worth complaining about. Definitely worth the money and I would recommend it.

The grinder does a good job as a grinder... although with a cut off wheel,, it tends to cut out and stop. I’m not sure as to why... I was cutting off bolts that were to long... 3/8” diameter... and wasn’t putting pressure on the device. I use more pressure grinding... I have a lot of Porter cable tools and have never had an issue with them. I prefer PC over any other brand including “high end” or rather high priced units.

20 years ago, Porter Cable was a highly sought after tool manufacturer in my industry (construction/remodeling). Although it hasn't enjoyed that level of respect for the last 10 years or so, PC still makes a quality product (or should I say Black&Decker, who also owns DeWalt, and Stanley Bostitch). I consider PC tools to still be in the same quality level as Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt, etc. Buying this grinder was my last piece to completing my 11 piece set of PC 20V tools. Gave this a test run right out of the box today, with a 5.0 ah battery, and sliced up 60' of 2" galvanized pipe (12"-16" lengths) without breaking a sweat. PC still Rocks, y'all!!!
