It is a good book, with some good exercises, but the 'hands off' approach is a little too vague at times, and I can't fully understand why someone would reiterate so many times that a method book does not have a 'method'. You will certainly need to 'know your stuff' as many points are not introduced nor explained including some author-made abbreviations that are a little head-scratching for a while. For the 'advancing guitarists' it provides a take it or leave it reference manual for some exercises and approaches to practice sessions, as well as some rather intense sightreading of complex chords in different tunings.

It's an excellent book! I bought it because Mick Goodrick is an great musician and I 've heard about this book from other guitarists. Almost any guitarist can start reading it
