Excellent spot light for a boat or car, especially with the included cigarette lighter adapter. Low power setting seems underwhelming after using the full power setting, but would be good for task lighting up close. Seems solid so far, I'd expect no less from StreamLight. Make sure you get the newer version that has 550 lumens on full power. The specs are printed on the box for verification.

Too narrow a spot. Needs a broader beam, or an adjustable beam. I prefer a "search" light. I do not like this one.

I was looking for a good/bright light that would not require a charge while in a location that had no electrical outlets. I found this light on line, read the reviews, and liked the feature of using four "C" size batteries. This light works perfect for my needs. The light has two settings for the brightness. The high beam is very bright at a long distance. The beam is a little smaller in diameter than I like although, I was aware or this while reading the reviews. I love this light and use it often. It is not hard on batteries. I am using the first set of batteries and have a very bright light.
Got this just in time to take it with us on a long boat trip. Was able to locate channel-markers in the dark from several hundred yards (right where GPS said they would be). The bright setting really makes the difference. Love the fact that it works so well.... Have used it for a week and still doesn't need batteries!

The light has proven to be powerful and reasonably lightweight considering the 4 C cell batteries it takes. I use the rechargeable version at work and found the switch on the rechargeable torch much more positive and easier to use The beam on full power is very good and on reduced power is still adequate for most jobs, there is a strobe function however I have never been in the position to need one so cannot comment on its effectiveness. In summary a good lightweight torch value for money my only suggestion for the future would be to have rechargeable batteries and a 12v supply as standard.
