What a game. Talk about difficult! I've never seen such a difficult game to play. I have looked at it 3 times now for a total of about 6 or 8 hours and I still don't know how to time the bat or pitch. I've gone through a bunch of the features that can be adjusted or changed and a lot of them don't make any sense to me. I wish it had a tutorial like the game Skate. I bought the Skate game and was doing tricks and skating in 15 minutes. I really like the graphics. That's about all I can say that I like so far. Why can't swinging the bat be as easy as swinging a golf club in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. At least the instructions could be more clear as to how to start a game or get some easy practice. I've tried the training module in this game and couldn't even get it to work. I probably spent an hour trying. There should be throwing, catching, pitching, batting and base stealing practice that's easy and intuitive. How can you get good at any of those activities if you can't practice. I think the game should be real easy to use in rooky mode and harder as you choose to advance to other skill levels. I hope to find some tips on how to play and if I don't I'll probably put this game up for sale on eBay. I refuse to purchase a book to learn how to play. It's just a game!Read full review

MLB '08 The Show is hands down, the best MLB game made in years. The game has everything you could possibly want. The road to the show mode allows a fresh faced kid to try out for a team during spring training and dependinon how well you do you get offered a contract with either the teams AA or AAA team (each team has both AA and AAA teams with full rosters in the game!) Then you work your way up by training and eventually you might get to be a starting pitcher or whatever or even move up to the bigs! There's plenty of other modes you'd expect and the game is just plain well done. The gameplay is top notch and the graphics are beautiful. I really gotta say this is the best $50 bucks I've spent on a sports game in many years. Trust me, if you're a baseball game fan you cannot go wrong with this game. One of the best reasons to own a PS3. The list of must have PS3 games is growing big time and with blue-ray firmly the winner they are selling like hotcakes, so take the plunge you will love it, esspcially with games like this out there!Read full review
I love this game. My favorite part is the Road to the Show feature. It's somewhat realistic but it's fun to build yourself up. Another fun part in the Road to the Show feature is the advancement periods. It's weird though you could get all of the goals in 7 advancement periods in a row and you still wouldn't go to the next level of play as in AA or AAA. The only thing I don't like is when you simulate in Franchise mode. The computer spends so much money especially when you need the money. Franchise mode is still fun though. It's great to trade away players for better players. I have the best rotation in the game with Sabathia, Santana, Webb, Hamels, and Arroyo. I don't necessarily like playing as my farm teams, but it's cool to have that feature if you like the AA or AAA teams. You can do a lot of things to help you achieve your goals in Franchise Mode whether it's focusing your scouts on certain players or using all of your training points. It's a very good game, and I recommend it 100%.Read full review
I never give games an excellent unless they are hard, fun and can`t put it down, or just plain very good. Yes the graphics are great, but the real challenge is from 07 to 08 is "The Road to the Show". In 07 you can make it to the Majors in 2, or 3 hours. In this game I played for 4 days and still didn`t even get called up to triple A. I even went to 'Game Ceats" on how to make it. The game itself is like madden football. Great all around. This baseball game is the best I have played. I have not played 09, but I will. This game you should pick up for no more then $18.00.
