I bought the eye ointment for my dog who is going blind and has very dry inflamed eyes. It works as well as a more expensive brand but it seems thicker coming out of the tube making it harder to apply. I have had some success making it softer by running the tube under hot water for a few seconds or rubbing it between my hands. It's a good price for essentially the same product at a higher price.

The price on even the budget ointments continues to rise, yet it's just pennies to manufacture. I think this is okay, but have some eye irritation during daytime hours even when using Soothe xp. If it contains lanolin, as someone said, that could be the cause. It flows okay unless the bathroom is cold, have tried heating it in a cup and it's flows better, sometimes too thin. No perfect solution to anything.

I have trouble with Dry Eyes. I can't afford Restasis which ended up over $700 for 3 months. By using a over the counter drop during the day and nighttime ointment loke these work great. I have found these have the same exact ingredients and amounts as the 10 $9 to $15 dollar dollar tubes and work the same. The only issue I have as the companies are going to plastic tubes and for my arthritis hands they aren't as easy as the metal type for my fingers. For the quality of ointment and the price, I highly recommend.

I've used many brands of night time eye ointment for 40 years for an eye condition. Using it was not a choice. This is as good as the best ones at much less cost. The metal tubes, though they can be difficult, are as nice they come (till someone invents a better delivery system). One can get more out of them before they're finished than out of the plastic tubes some use. The formula, as they all do, got a bit thin when we had a heat wave; but it didn't turn to the consistency of water as some have The price is several dollars less per tube than the other brands available (they change over the years). I use a lot of it, so this wonderful product has saved me large money. It's just unbeatable -- in every way.

I use this product just before retiring to help combat a dry-eyes condition. Without this pre-sleep lubrication, opening my eyes on awakening would be painful. My ophthalmologist recommended Genteal PM, which worked fairly well, but Lubrifresh works better for me. Its consistency is thicker, making it a little harder to apply, but it has better staying power. What's more, its price is less than half of other brands. Even so, I gave it only 4 stars because its active ingredients of mineral oil and petroleum jelly has to mean it's still way overpriced. But it's the best deal I've found for a product that does the job.
