Lovely music but too much dead space on CD

The music is wonderful. But the long spaces where there is "nothing" are disconcerting, especially the huge dead spaces between each track. Disappointing, in that sense.

This is gorgeous music. Nawang Khechog's Tibetan flute has a subtle quality often woefully lacking in other relaxation/meditation recordings. Less shrill than the Native American flute, Khechog's is low and soft. He also avoids the sort of overproduced "sonic excess" and sentimentality found on so many New Age CDs. The flute tracks are unobtrusive, as is his use of the digeridoo, of all things, on a few of the tracks. I've been listening to this CD every night right before bed. I can definitely understand why it's been used in hospitals to soothe pregnant women. If there is a sound of peace, this music has to be pretty close.

Magic!

Nawang Khechog is a magician. His flute transports me to a place of beauty and peace. Sitting down with a cup of hot tea, meditating, working creatively with your art form, healing, seeking inner peace or making love, all activities are enhanced by Nawang's exquisite music, which surely comes from his opened heart. I hope by listening that his magic and spirit rubs off on me.

This CD brings calming moments into otherwise busy days.

I was pleasantly surprised by this CD. It combines the lyric beauty of the flute with music from the East. It is terrific to meditate to or to just bring some quiet and harmony into your life on an otherwise busy afternoon.. Anyone who wants to stetch their musical horizons should definitely trythis CD.

Relaxing music for yoga, meditation, other

I am a yoga instructor, and I recently picked up this album at a used book sale as music to use in my yoga classes. I had heard some of artist's Nawant Khechong's prior work, so I knew this would be gentle flute music, which it is. There are a few tunes which surprised me, however. For example, "Starting a Kindness Course" has a deep, gong-like sound at the beginning that continues to reverberate somewhat through the entire song, and "Being Kind to Each Other" also has some deeper undertones. My favorites are probably "Becoming More Peaceful" and "Dwelling in Peace." Overall, I have enjoyed this album and do find it relaxing to use for my classes; I would recommend it.

A very contemplative CD

I find the music to be very peaceful and relaxing. The range of feelings one experiences while listening to this CD can only be explained as phenomenal. This is especially true for those of us who have experienced the orient and its music. A must for any meditative session.
