Every Alaskan has this book( usually it is very worn from use), and for good reason, it not only includes topo maps of the entire state, but info on camping sites, fishing lakes and streams, float trips and boat ramps. It is a bit heavy for a backpacker, perfect for " on the dash " as one wanders through the state. Milepost is good for a retired bago driver, but for the independant camper and hiker this is the book. For information on interesting areas the best resource is the locals who willing give info.
Very user friendly. Easy to follow. Easy to read.
