Our family likes VeggieTales. The humor entertains my children and my husband! I prefer biblical stories because they do a great job of bringing down to a level young children can understand, while also being authentic and accurate to the story in the bible so the older kids aren't pointing out all the flaws.

Contrary to what the Editorial Review section says, this DVD has Rack, Shack and Benny, Joshua, and the Good Samaritan. Rack, Shack and Benny is true to the story, including the fiery furnace. The boys are working at a chocolate bunny factory and refuse to sing a song and bow down to the giant bunny. My youngest kids were a little scared of the furnace, but after viewing etc. They are totally fine with it now and it isn't gory or used as cheap emotional trick. The furnace is a part of the bible story, so I agree with them including it. The story would be too altered if you took it out. Joshua and the battle of Jericho was likewise done really well. They again kept true to the biblical story, while illustrating (but not excusing) how some were skeptical of the ability to take down walls by marching. I think this helps children to relate to the story and apply it to their lives. Last is the Good Samaritan. I think they did an awesome job with this show. Sometimes I think we adults forget that the ancient culture may seem unknown to our kids. This does a great job illustrating the meaning on their level. Of course the songs are great, as always.

So for the price of one DVD you get 3 shows. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great cartoon for kids. It gives them a fun time learning things about the bible,things you may cannot put into the right words for them to explain, it is a funny little video it doesnt sway away from the true story but it does simplify it and bring it down to a childlike aspect and understanding.Like shortening names that are hard to pronounce and such..And in a time where everything is violent or has little sexual references in the shows this is a good thing and kid friendly video for your kids to watch, one where you dont have to worry or sit over there shoulder the whole time to check it out. I give it 5 stars its very funny and educational in a childlike way and is filled with little tunes they can dance to which my 1yr old daughter enjoyed and its great to see they still make cartoon like this.

These films help to teach some of the values that are so hard to inclucate in today's children, honesty, obedience, truthfulness friendship, and Godliness. Sunday and Sabbath School teachers can use them to inject interest in their teaching activities at church. Anyone who has children, must have them!

It has three different stories on it and since I have seen very few veggie tales I can not compare. They are a bit funny to me, but he is not only entertained he is learning! Last night in home Bible study he asked to read the story of Joshua and the israelites and the Wall coming down. We were able to explain the differences in the movie and the Bible (like they didn't really throw slushes on them). So I recommend this video, but I can not compare to others
